AATSL conducts creative writing contest

The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka, popularly known as AATSL, the largest body of middle level accountants in Sri Lanka, conducts as one of its annual events a Creative Writing Contest. This year the topic is "Sri Lanka to be a Place of Knowledge and Skills".

Students can write Creative Essays on the above topic on any or combination of the following subject areas; (1) Economics & Commerce (2) Arts & Culture and (3) Science & Technology. Creative Essays from students will be accepted by the Association up to 10th of February 2009.

AATSL conducts this Creative Writing Contest with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The Participants are from schools and among G.C.E. (O/L) and G.C.E. (A/L) Students island-wide. It will be conducted in all the three media Sinhala, Tamil and English and designed to kindle the interest of students to pursue knowledge in fields outside their classroom studies, and to inculcate creative ability in students.

The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka is a professional accountancy body, established in 1987 on the initiative of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. AATSL produces middle level Accountants to meet the demand for middle level accounting / audit personnel in private and public sector organizations in the country. The AATSL is an Associate Member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA).
