MULLAITTIVU: One of the bunkers LTTE leader Prabhakaran is believed to have used as a hideout was found in the Visuamadu jungle by the 57 Division troops commanded by Major General Jagath Dias on Friday (30).

12 SLSR (12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment) troops operating under the 572 Brigade came across this underground bunker over which a luxurious house was built.

The way this comfortable house and the underground bunker with fully air-conditioned facilities had been put up bears ample evidence of the luxurious life style Prabhakaran had led, while forcibly conscripting underage child soldiers to suffer in the warfront.

This was the first instance that troops found a domestic lift to move between a bunker and the overhead construction.

A powerful, sound-proof generator which supplied power to this well–equipped house with bulletproof doors and to the bunker, was also found inside the premises.

Medical equipment used by diabetic patients was amongst the items found within the complex by troops.
