Ranaviru children get special gift packs

A spectacular gesture of goodwill and generosity, blended with the noble ideal of assisting members of War Hero (Ranaviru) families, became a reality when Japan-based Sri Lankan philanthropist, Dhammika Aluthgedara, Chairman, Yuki Nipon Co. Ltd donated gift parcels of school accessories to 100 students, belonging to Ranaviru families in the Anuradhapura district.

The chief guest at the ceremony was Mrs. Anoma Fonseka, President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB). The SVAB supported arrangements in the event.

The project was coordinated and organized jointly by Army Media Advisor Sisira Wijesinghe and Silumina Associate Editor Rohana Wettasinghe. In addition to the gift parcel each worth about Rs 5500/-, a cash donation was also made to the guardians who accompanied those 100 children for the occasion.

Ven Pallegama Hemerathana Thero, Incumbent Ruwanveli Seya, Ven Nugatenne Pannananda Thero, Incumbent Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharaya and Ven Eethalawetunuwewe Gnanathilaka Thero, Incumbent, Mirisawetiya Viharaya also attended the ceremony.
