Turnover and indices register declines

Yesterdays trading resulted in the turnover declining from Rs.300 million to Rs. 131 million. Both indices also declined with the ASI at 1803.89 losing 17.35 points(0.95%) while MPI declined 15.68 points (0.77%) at1949.90.

Among the transactions that crossed the 100,000 threshold by volume, Value being discounted, were Amaya Leisure 0.152mn at s.24.00 losing Rs.1.00, Ceylinco Ins 0.318mn at Rs.175.00(unchanged), Ceylon Tobacco 0.107mn at Rs.82.25 gaining Rs.1.25, CocoLanka 0.126mn at Rs.20.00 gaining =/50cts, East West 0.112mn at Rs. 6.25 gaining =/25cts, JKH 0.141mn at Rs.65.00 losing Rs.1.50,Lanka IOC 0.209mn at Rs.21.25 gaining Rs.1.25, Laxapana 0.387 mn at Rs. 5.25 losing =/25cts, Nawaloka 0.271mn at Rs.2.10 (unchanged), Overseas Reality 0.122mn at Rs.9.25 gaining =/25cts,Pegasus Hotel 0.145mn at Rs.18.00 losing Rs.1.25, Reefcomber 1.327mn at Rs.1.20(unchanged), Seylan Bank (n/v) 0.151mn at Rs. 6.75 losing =/25cts,,Keells Hotels 0.119mn at Rs.7.50(unchanged), Sierra Cables 0.107mn at Rs.1.50(unchanged), Tess Agro 0.339mn at =/80cts (unchanged), Vallibel 0.215mn at rs.3.30 losing=/10cts and Lanka Cement 0.445mn at Rs.13.00 (unchanged). A big gainer yesterday was Col Pharmacy (Rs.24.50) while a big loser was Finlays Colombo (Rs.15.00)
