President Mahinda Rajapaksa welcomes Vatican’s Ambassador in Sri Lanka Monsignor Mario Zenari at Temple Trees yesterday. The President requested Ambassador Zenari to request all clergy members in the uncleared areas to come to the cleared areas. The Government had taken action to ensure the welfare of all civilians and members of the clergy coming from the conflict areas to the cleared areas. The LTTE was on its last legs and this desperation would force them to use anybody as a shield against the advancing troops, President Rajapaksa told Ambassador Zenari, a press release issued by the President’s Media Unit said. |
