Dinesh designs for Sri Lankanbrides

Dinesh Chandrasena certainly needs no introduction. He has designed and created Ms. Halle Berry’s wedding dress, his celebrity clients include Ms. Sandra Bullock, Dame Julie Andrews, Ms. Shania Twain, and Miss America 2008. His launching into the arena of one of a kind, couture bridal creations in Sri Lanka under his own label, is his latest venture. Dinesh who is a very successful couture designer based in Los Angeles, had his first fashion show in Sri Lanka in April 2008, which was an eye opener, setting new standards for what an international caliber show should be like.

Dinesh, who is in Sri Lanka for his usual one month end of year holiday, said that no matter what, his family is always his priority, and he would makes every effort to spend time with them. As we go to print Dinesh mentioned to me, that his extending his vacation meant that he would miss the "Golden Globe" awards in Los Angeles, but added laughing that "it clearly shows that my priorities are family first". On his return to Los Angeles, Dinesh has a few weeks before he shows his Fall/Winter 2009 collection in New York.

Dinesh gave me news on his own website www.dineshc.com which will be updated constantly and will not only have info on his projects but also give clients the ability to contact Dinesh. Brides to be who want exceptional, international standard, one of a kind wedding clothes designed by Dinesh, can contact him through the website, and he would set up appointments to meet with them when he is in Sri Lanka. "I will design for them one on one, and I will see making of the garment through to completion, with sketches, fittings etc. as I would do with my celebrity clients. I will be working with my factory that I work with for the Claire’s Collection gowns, and since this is a very exclusive end of the market, The wedding garment would need a minimum of 4-6 months to make, and this again is the same as I would with my Gowns in Los Angeles" he added.

I have been to Dinesh’s office and showrooms in Los Angeles, and have seen his beautiful gowns first hand. His office is efficient and there is a quiet sense of calm that comes with people who know what they are doing. For the discerning bride in Sri Lanka, or anywhere in the world for that matter, getting a sari or gown created by Dinesh would add an extra touch of glamour and high style to their wedding day. I asked Dinesh how he would handle the orders in Sri Lanka, and he said "my factory capacity is limited, as everything is done by hand, and my quality control is impeccable. I am a perfectionist with my garments and this means that I can only accept a limited amount of clients a year. My time and my factories time are very limited".

So for those brides to be who want a stunning one of a kind designer creation, after 12 years, Dinesh’s Design expertise is now available to exclusive clients in Sri Lanka.
