TMVP leader Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan yesterday handed over the weapons of his outfit to the Army Eastern Command.
The arms, which comprised T 56 assault rifles, T 81 guns, RPG shells and ammunition, were handed over to the army at the TMVP’s party office at Meenagam, Batticaloa.
Chandrakanthan who is the Eastern Chief Minister has ruled out the need for the weapons as the LTTE is being defeated by the military.
