As a community
development work under CSR Browns Beach Hotel organises different events
from time to time. There are 38 venders directly involved on the beach
selling items such as souvenirs, beach wraps, hats & cotton clothes, Wrist
watches, shells, ornaments and carvings etc.
Nimal Lanza, Mayor of Negombo was the chief guest and Ms. Hyacinth
Gunawardane was the Guest of Honour at this event . Addressing the
gathering, Lanza appreciated the encouragement given by the management to
the community as a means to develop the community.
New identity cards and permits were issued to the beach vendors by the
Mayor.
Nimal Lanza spoke about the value of foreign guests who visit our
country inspite of travel advisories issued by certain countries and said
it is our utmost responsibility to offer them a quiet and undisturbed
holiday as they come all the way from Europe to enjoy the sun shine and
the sandy beaches. He also appreciated the efforts made by Upul Peiris,
Director / General Manager in initiating events which add value to the
immediate community and for the development of Negombo.
