A recent research found Chicken sausages were contaminated with bacteria said Dr. Pradeep Kariyawasam the Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo Municipal Council on Friday (13).
He said the sale of these products was in violation of the Food Act. The germs include Salmonella and E Coli bacteria.
The CMC Public Health Department found five star hotels with improper and unhygienic food storage, with broken floors and improper sanitary facilities.
Colombo has a transit population of about 700,000 and most people had to patronise unhygienic eating houses and hotels, he said.
