What Dr. Waruna Gunathilake, the consultant physician of District Hospital Bibile, revealed of the health status of the Veddah community or more accurately, the Wanniya-laeto, the oldest inhabitants of the Sri Lanka, is not only groundbreaking, but should also kindle the medical fraternity into having a scholarly discussion on the subject.
