Repayment plan for Ceylinco Shriram depositors
The Board of Directors of Ceylinco Shriram Capital Management Services Co. (Pvt.) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ceylinco Consolidated, informed depositors that it would present a repayment plan on April 10 after evaluating assets and liabilities of Ceylinco Capital Investment Company (Pvt) Ltd and CLC Asset Management (Pvt.) Ltd which are managed by Ceylinco Shriram.
Around 4000 to 5000 depositors assembled at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday to inquire about their deposits from the directors of the Company.
According to depositors present at the meeting, newly appointed Administrator, Walter Ladduwahetty of CLC Asset Management did not preside at the meeting due to an interim court order.
Sarath Weerasekara, a depositor from Mattegoda who had also filed a case against the Company alleged the meeting was held despite an interim order withholding it.
"The next Court hearing is on April l2 and we will inform Court about today’s meeting which violated the interim order preventing the meeting under section 404 of the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007," he said.
