UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday settled a dispute between Horana Pradeshiya Sabha member Senarath Wanigathunga and his colleagues after the former queried the Opposition Leader when he would quit the party leadership.

Wickremesinghe who presided at a meeting in Horana had asked Wanigathunga to stay by his side after the majority of participants demanded his immediate removal from the party. They had urged the UNP leader to chase him out of the premises. In a bid to settle the dispute, Wanigathunga had withdrawn his question and was allowed to continue his presence, the sources said. At the end of the meeting, Wickremesinghe had escorted the member to his residence.
