SL Air Force Cycle Race

The much looked forward to Sri Lanka Air Force Cycle Race covering a distance of 383.2 kilometres got underway in front of the Air Force Headquarters on Friday with the participation of over 100 cyclists. The event had gained popularity over the years, but was abandoned for the last few years before Sri Lanka Air Force decided to resume the race this year.

The riders reached Bandarawela covering a distance of 194 kilometers in two stages and at the end of day one, sailor K.S. Kumara (26) was in front followed by Janaka Samaraweera (122) of Win Wheel and Indika Warnasooriya (41) of Army ‘B’ team.
