Professor Malik Ranasinghe regarded as an active academic leader with strong intellect and passion towards the development of the knowledge economy in Sri Lanka joined the Advisory Board of Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies, SLASSCOM the unified national IT/BPO industry association.

Professor Ranasinghe is the Vice-Chancellor, University of Moratuwa (UoM) and is a Professor in Civil Engineering. Presently Prof. Ranasinghe is the Chairman of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) of Sri Lanka.

"The contribution of Professor Ranasinghe would no doubt strengthen the IT/BPO industry direction. We look forward to close collaboration of industry and academia to ensure that Sri Lanka build a strong and sizable talent pool who is relevant and future ready" said Ranjit Fernando, Chairman of SLASSCOM.
