Maligakande Water Board officials accompanied by the police raided the Galle Face Court -2 complex in Galle Road, Kollupitiya and took into custody a suspect for illegally tapping water.

The officials met with initial difficulty to find the illegal tapping line, which was underground, Kollupitiya Police said.

The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charge and was enlarged on a Rs. 50,000 cash bail and Rs. 500,000 surety bail on being produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court.
