

Work on Dehiwela fly over begins
The construction work of the Dehiwala fly over, at a cost of Rs. 870 million, will be declared open today by Infrastructure, Highways and Road Development Minister T. B. Ekanayaka.
The fly over is 337 meters in length and 7.35 meters in width.
The government has spent Rs.30 million as additional expenditure for installation of electricity transmission lines, telephone lines and water lines. The British firm Mabay & Jonson Ltd and Access Engineering Ltd have been contracted to build the fly over. Around 40,000 vehicles a day are expected to have an easy passage when the fly over is commissioned.
