Police are seeking public assistance to track down an army deserter allegedly involved with the LTTE. Police headquarters said that Tennakoon Gamage Milton alias Nishantha had joined the LTTE after deserting his last post several years ago. Police said that the Corporal had been attached to the army base at Welikanda at the time of his disappearance. The 31-year-old suspect had joined the army in 1996.
