The UNP wants IGP Jayantha Wickremaratne to take action against UPFA candidate Ajmal Mawjood and his supporters engaged in a violent PC polls campaign in the city, particularly targeting Muslims voters in Colombo Central, Borella and Colombo North electorates.

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake yesterday brought this to the notice of the IGP, Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake and DIG Elections Gamini Navaratne.

Attanayake said that some civilians who accompanied Mawjood who is to contest the Colombo District dress up as police and STF personnel.
