And the iron clad wheel grinds on inexorably
What seeing light,
Sputters and writhes,
In death gasps,
In the Stygian recesses
Of a dark and twisted mind?
Does the horrific rhythm
Of maniacal atrocities,
Fuelled by violent fantasies,
Turn his long night’s unrest,
Into a phantasmagoric devil’s foundry,
Where the tortured soul
Is dragged through the galaxies
In an excruciatingly doleful voyage,
Over the smouldering coals
Of the stars and the planets?
As the bleeding conscience
Festers and runs
And the churning seas
Spin the frail life-craft around,
The very sky
Echoes,
The horrid laughter
Of the countless dead souls
Slaughtered mercilessly,
In an eerie chorus
Of taunting mockery!
He who angers his gods,
By the mindless and violent breach
Of the universal moral law,
With such mocking cant
And cynical insouciance,
Needs only a split mischance,
To be dragged before the ancient altar,
To smell the dank mix
Of harsh incense and congealed blood
And see in the wild gleam
Of the knife-wielder’s eyes
The all too familiar ruthlessness -
The surging blood force
So purposefully bent
On rooting out the cause
Of all the bloody destruction,
And the appalling,serried mayhem!
The ironclad wheel of causality,
Grinds on inexorably,
As the ancient chant of the sages,
Rings forth, loud and clear
That eternal moral dictate-
"…Dharmasamsthapanarthaya,
Samabhavami Yuge Yuge"!*
