The Wattala Magistrate yesterday ordered the arrest of UNP Wattala Pradeshya Sabha member Thayagaratne Alwis, who is alleged to have trespassed on the land of another UNP member and using criminal force on the occupants.

Magistrate Rashantha Godawela, released three other suspects involved in the same case on Rs 200,000 personal bail each.

Police informed Court that summons were handed over to the wife of the suspect Pradeshya Sabha member.

Attorney-at-Law Vernon Cooray appeared for the prosecution while Attorney-at-Law Channa Gunawardane appeared for the defence.
