It is reported in the press that a child was kidnapped in the Gampaha area, and later released on the same day. When some eye witnesses said that it was Sarana Gunawardena the Gampaha District Parliamentarian who had kidnapped him the MP denied his involvement and said that it was not him but could have been someone like him. We believe him because he is an honourable MP.

However, problems may occur when he contests the next general election. When he comes on stage some people might say that he is not Sarana Gunawardena. If there is someone in the Gampaha District who resembles Sarana Gunawardena and kidnapped the child, please come forward and surrender to the Police and save the image of the people’s representative who has more to lose than the one who actually kidnapped the child.
