The 23rd Annual Sri Lanka Masters’ Athletic Championship for men and women over 35 years will be held on the 29th and 30th of April at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

Over 650 athletes from 15 districts will be participating at this year’s event and the district that wins the event will be awarded the P. H. A. Waidyathilaka Memorial Challenge Trophy.

The participation of athletes from Thailand, Singapore and India will add more attraction to this year’s championship.

The final selection for the World Masters’ Athletic Championships in Finland from 28th July to 8th August will be decided on the performance of this meet.

Most of the athletics who took part in the 15th Asian Masters’ Athletic Championships in Thailand in January this year are expected to be in action at this year’s meet. Sri Lanka won 153 medals at the Asian Masters’ Championship.
