

Skipper and opening batsman Dinesh Chandimal anchored the Sri Lanka Under-19 innings with an unbeaten 179 runs after sharing a 123 stand with Udara Jayasundara as they posted 286 for eight at close in reply to Bangladesh’s 316 on the second day of their Under-19 Youth Test at the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium, Fatullah in Bangladesh on Thursday.
Chandimal, who batted throughout the day hit 27 fours in his unbeaten knock and helped the visitors remain in contention after a middle order collapse saw them fall from 129 for one at one stage to 193 for eight.
Madushan Ekanayake, who joined Chandimal put together an unbeaten 93 run stand for the ninth wicket. Sri Lanka Under-19 were still trailing by 30 runs in the first innings.
