The Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee, under D. S. de
Silva, on Saturday (25) resolved to sack one of its employees, the
controversial B. H. Perera aka ‘Podi Sir’ with immediate effect.
After a stormy media conference held last March, which
preceded an alleged assault incident, Perera had been temporarily
dismissed from his services pending inquiry. It was later alleged that
Perera had been assaulted by one of the interim committee members,
Pramodaya Wickramasinghe.
Perera barged in to the above media conference, in fact the first such
conference by the present interim administration, and forcibly attempted
to address the media but was ordered out by the SLC conference room.
