Attanagalla Magistrate I. D. P. Liyanage yesterday ordered the arrest of National Freedom Front Parliamentarian Piyasiri Wijenayake and five other suspects over the killing of JVP activist Nandana Balage in Veyangoda recently.

The Magistrate issued the order after considering the evidence submitted by four persons who reportedly witnessed Wijenayaka shooting the victim at Dadagamuwa in Veyangoda on April 6th.

Balage was shot dead by an armed group when he was travelling to Kandy after participating in a JVP propaganda campaign for the recently concluded WPC polls.
