The five directors of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation who vacated office following last week’s Supreme Court judgment on the SLIC privatization are: Messrs. D.H.S. Jayawardena (Chairman), R.K. Obeyesekera (Deputy Chairman), Royle Jansz, Damian Fernando, Ms. C. Muttukumara, Harsha Wickremasinghe and Asoka Abeywardena.
There is no word yet about who the successors will be. The court ordered the Treasury to appoint a new board.
The full judgment, read out in court on Thursday is not yet available as the final corrections were being done. It is expected to be available this week, well informed sources said.
