With the participation of many countries, the Asian Boxing Championship begins today and will be worked off till June 12 in China.

Four players will be representing Sri Lanka in the Championship.

They will be: for the 48kg class, K.C.N. Alexander, 51kg class, Dakshilan Rathnayake, 54kg class, E.N. Samaranayake and 58kg class, S.P. Silva.

Harsha Kumara will be the team manager and the coach of the Lankan team will be Udeni Kiridena. The President of the Amateur Boxing Association of SL will take part in the championship as a special invitee.

Nishantha Dharmadasa, a boxing referee in Sri Lanka, will also be taking part as an official in the Championship.
