Mr. D.S. Weerakkody has been named alternate director to Mrs. S.N. Wickremasinghe on the board of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC with Mrs. Wickremasinghe named alternate to Mr. Weerakkody with effect from April 24, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has been notified.
Mr. Herschel Gunawardena has been appointed a non-executive independent director on the board of Ceylinco Insurance PLC with effect from May 4
Two executive appointments to the boards of Dipped Products PLC and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC has been announced by the Hayleys group with Mr. L.G.S. Gunawardena joining the Dipped Products board as an executive director from June 1 and Mr. Sarath Siriwardana named an executive director of Kelani Valley Plantations also from June 1.
This follows the retirement of Dr. W.S.E. Fernando who served on the boards of Dipped Products and Kelani Valley Plantations in executive capacity with effect from May 31.
Mr. Takashi Yoshino has been appointed to the board of Sathosa Motors PLC with effect from April April 1 succeeding Mr. Eisuke Ishi who has resigned from that date.
Other resignations from quoted company boards communicated to the CSE include those of Mr. Prasanna W. Jayawardene from Hotel Services from April 30, Mr. Anil Weerasinghe and Mr. Chandrasiri de Silva from the People’s Merchant Bank from April 30 and Messrs L.J.K.D. Liyanage and H.M.S. Warnakulasooriya from Lanka Cement.
