Nearly 700 members will take part at the Regional Toastmasters Conference of District 82-Ovation 2009 – comprising Sri Lanka and India which commences tomorrow in Colombo.

Nearly 350 participants will represent India. Others will represent Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, USA and Canada.

The ceremonial inauguration will take place at the BMICH, followed by the other events at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.

TOASTMASTERS is the world leader in helping people be more competent and comfortable before of an audience. It offers a proven and enjoyable way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills.

Second Vice President Toastmaster International DTM Pat Johnson who is a trainer and motivational speaker, will be the keynote speaker at the conference. There will be 12 educational sessions conducted by senior Toastmasters from US, Canada, UK and India and Sri Lanka.

2008/09 District Governor Balraj Arunasalam said at a press conference on Wednesday at the Sri Lanka Press Institute, that this is an organisation to uplift self development. All Toastmasters found articulated commitment in English for the countrymen to get the maximum benefit.
