

Indian National Security Advisor M. K. Narayan, Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon and Indian High Commissioner Alok Prasad met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday (21) and assured him of India’s unstinted cooperation to the Sri Lanka Government’s efforts to rehabilitate the people displaced due to terrorist activities.
Commenting on the defeat of LTTE terrorism they said that this was a good example for those countries that believe that terrorism cannot be wiped out
The Indian team had lengthy discussions with President Rajapaksa on the rehabilitation of the people displaced due to the war and the reconstruction of areas devastated due to the war. They said the Indian Government had given priority to these two subjects in their assistance to Sri Lanka.
Associated with the President at this meeting were Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa, MP and President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratungs.
