Government says so called ‘KP factor’ means nothing
Entire LTTE leadership has been decimated

The government said yesterday that the LTTE leadership has been decimated and it was not bothered by the so called ‘K.P. factor’.

Media Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, when asked at yesterday’s Cabinet press briefing in Colombo, if the government was concerned that the head of LTTE’s International Relations Division and chief arms procurer Kumaran Pathmanadan alias KP, was still active abroad, he said "Who is this K.P? We don’t know of any such person, nor are we interested. There is no LTTE leadership now and the organisation is finished".

He said that the war era was over and the government does not want to delve on it anymore. "In future we are going to talk about economic development".

Lately, KP has guised himself as "Selvaraj Pathmanathan - the LTTE’s Chief Negotiator and International Spokesperson". He remains on Interpols list of most wanted men.

Thanking the media for the cooperation extended, Yapa claimed that the Rajapaksa government had always granted journalists the freedom to perform their functions, without let or hindrance.
