

Rome, 21 May, (Asiantribune.com): Italian Bishop Conference donates Euros One Million for the war victims Sri Lanka.
Through the Intervention of Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith now serving in the Vatican a donation of one Million Euros for the war victims in Sri Lanka has been passed.
As a gesture of care and concern for the war victims in Sri Lanka the Italian Bishops’ Conference has donated the cash. The Conference also invited the universal church to pray for peace in Sri Lanka and sustain the needs of the war victims.
President of the Italian Bishop’s conference, His Eminence Cardinal Angelo Bangnasco highlighted that these donations have to be utilised for the immediate necessities of the Internally Displaced Persons..
The Committee for Charitable Interventions in developing countries whose president is Mons. Gandolfo Gian Batista said that these donations be directly handled by the Local Churches and Caritas offices under the guidance of the Sri Lankan Catholic Bishops’conference
