United Nations Secretary General Ban-ki-Moon, due to
arrive in Sri Lanka on Saturday, has said that the intention of his visit
is to personally visit the welfare centres established by the Government
for the internally displaced people and the areas where the war between
the security forces and the LTTE was fought.
The Secretary General, who arrives tomorrow leaves on
Sunday. He has expressed a wish to talk to the people in the welfare
centres.
He has promised his cooperation towards rebuilding and
relief assistance and expected that his visit would pave the way to
felicitate a dialogue to ascertain the cause for the armed conflict.
