The "Western" media, NGOs and Tamilnadu politicoes, have been labelling the Sinhalas as genocidal brutes. Let me attempt to disprove this slander by reference to history - both ancient and modern. Way back in the 16th century the bloodthirsty Portuguese began to eliminate all Muslims, their commercial rivals, from south west Sri Lanka. These poor victims appealed to the King of Kandy, Wimala Dharma Suriya, who magnanimously invited these "IDPs" to settle down in the South East - where their descendants yet live. Now, fast forward to a few years ago when Prabakaran expelled all Muslims from Jaffna. Where did these IDPs seek refuge ? It was in Puttalam that the "Sinhala dominated" government gave them facilities to settle [ thus skewing its ethnic ratio!].It is a bad joke that Karunanidhi levels this accusation from a country that "boasts" of an anti-Muslim almost annually. Let him ,and those Western NGO wallahs who shout ‘bloodbath’ give  proof of the rounding up and cold-blooded massacre  of poor Tamils by the "Sinhala army" .Genocide was the aim of Prabakaran who rounded up poor Tamils from Mannar and force marched them, alongside Tiger cadres,  to serve as slave labour to build their medieval embankments and as human shields in the last resort. These are the victims who willingly sought refuge with the "Sinhala Army". These vast numbers were never resident in the thinly populated fishing villages where the Tigers made their last stand. The Tiger’s hope was that the "Sinhala Army" would commit genocide on their human shield. But it never happened . What it did was not ‘genocide’ but ‘Tiger-cide’
