PRAGUE (AP) - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says the European Union should not interfere in China’s internal affairs, a swipe at European contact with the Dalai Lama.
China cancelled a December summit after French President Nicolas Sarkozy met the Tibetan leader who Beijing accuses of seeking Tibetan independence from China.
Wen said Wednesday at a China-EU summit that the two sides must have "mutual respect" for each other and "should not interfere in each other’s internal affairs."
EU officials said human rights would remain a key part of future talks with China.
