‘Construct 2009’ will build for a better future

Sri Lanka’s largest ever construction industry related exhibition – "Construct 2009" – will take place from the 14th to 16th August this year at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial International Exhibition Centre in Colombo.

This prestigious annual exhibition has been organized for the ninth consecutive year by the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) and showcases the achievements of Sri Lanka’s construction industry. "Construct 2009" also brings together the entire value chain of the building and construction industry under a common roof for the dissemination and sharing of knowledge in advances made in skills and technology in the industry.

Construct 2009 with over 260 stalls also includes a special enclosure-a gallery for the suppliers and service providers to exhibit their latest and gleaming state-of-the-art machinery and equipment to update the construction community of the latest products, services and futuristic trends in the construction industry. "Construct" brings together the most representative companies in the sector and a large number of trade visitors and general public. Construct 2009 going international has included more stalls than last year from other countries with whom the NCASL and the construction community of Sri Lanka have trade links. (India, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia etc.)

Last year this exhibition drew over 20,000 visitors. "Construct 2008" was a mega success. This year we hope to conduct the exhibition on a grandeur scale with more stalls and more facilities for exhibitors in order to make it the most comprehensive trade exhibition in the country. "Construct 2009" will create the ideal environment to showcase the achievements & growth of Sri Lanka’s Construction Industry and also prevents a way to open up this industry to the international market." says the organizers of Construct 2009.

With groundbreaking projects at national level such as power plants, water resource projects, ports, flyovers, bridges, expressways and highways having being commissioned, "Construct 2009" also serves as a window to the country’s development. At the same time, it presents alternate ways, methods, material and technologies to overcome crisis-issues, the scarcities and the shortcomings which are ground realities that have beset the construction-industry.

"Construct", the Construction Industry’s most important Trade Fair & Exhibition in Sri Lanka; will feature the latest products, technologies and services in the sector. It is the ideal meeting platform for wholesale and retail Suppliers of the Industry with Builders, Engineers, Contractors, Architects, Developers and others involved in today’s booming market for construction. The National Construction Association of Sri Lanka being the premier organization representing the entire construction community in the country expects a large percentage of contractors to visit this year’s Exhibition.
