      Editorial:The killer pets of the West

Dark days of terror are over and mothers of Sri Lanka do not have to fear for the safety of their children any longer, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing a mammoth rally held yesterday at the Parliament Grounds to pay tribute to war heroes.

The new freedom of this country is a great responsibility. From the first to the fourth Executive President and government of our country, whenever they had to face a problem they had an answer at the ready. It is to put all the blame on the war. But now that the war is over neither I, nor any one who comes after, have no such thing to say. Our ministers too cannot now be free of responsibility. No one can say that and escape now, President Rajapaksa said at the ceremony to pay tribute to the Heroes of War at the Parliament Grounds yesterday.

Is Prabhakaran alive?
In this picture posted on LTTE websites an amused Prabhakaran watches TV images of his own corpse. The LTTEreleased it to bolster its claim that its leader was not dead. Please the picture below.


No, LTTE made this picture lie
This is the orginal picture taken on Jan. 25, 2005 (of Prabhakaran and the late Anton Balasingham). LTTE propagandists doctored it to produce the above one to mislead the world . A television set, a newsaper and a moustache were introduced into it to mislead the world.
