Those three docs from Tiger redoubt

It is important to place in perspective the role played by these loose-tongued government doctors now in custody - and well on the way to becoming ‘medical martyrs’[courtesy ICRC etc] and cushy billets in the West .They were perfectly entitled to stay back to attend to casualties. BUT they are employees of the Health Department and paid by the government. As such they are bound by government regulations which prohibit officials from speaking to the media. They have accused the government of shelling their " and thus violated these regulations. This is, of course, a minor transgression. What is more serious is that they have made no effort to ship these ‘prime exhibits’ to the Pulmoddai Field Hospital - thus depriving Tamilnet etc of juicy material. If the detention of these ‘martyrs’ is clearly unfair - I am sure that the vociferous GMOA would have spoken up for them. Its silence is significant.
