Japanese envoy Yasushi Akashi is scheduled to visit Colombo again. The Representative of the Government of Japan for Peace-Building, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sri Lanka will visit Colombo and New Delhi from June 8th to 12th.

During his stay here, Akashi will meet with government officials and representatives of the ruling and opposition parties and call for assistance to and resettlement of internally-displaced persons as well as swift progress of political processes for national reconciliation. In India, Akashi will exchange views with government officials on the situation in Sri Lanka, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry. This will be his 18th visit to Sri Lanka.
