Parents of the youth, who
died when a bridge at Poddala, along the Southern Highway, now under
construction, collapsed, refused to accept the one million rupees
compensation paid by the Japanese company responsible for the construction
of the collapsed bridge.Meanwhile, the Government too is considering
payment of compensation to the parents of the victim and soon a Cabinet
paper would be submitted in this regard, Minister of Highways,
T. B. Ekanayake said.
