Bandarawela STC record 61 run win over arch rivals

Himal Chandrasiri, with a top score of 58 runs and R. Pulyloon with a haul of four wickets, excelled for S. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela to record 61 run victory over S. Thomas’ College, Guruthalawa in their Big Match played at the Bandarawela Esplanade, recently.

Replying to the 206 runs scored by the Bandarawela Thomians, the Guruthalawa Thomians were restricted to 145 runs. While R. Pulyloon picked up four wickets D. C. Amarasinghe and Nayomal Wijenayake picked up two wickets each.

Although none of the batsmen could top 50 runs for the Guruthalawa Thomians, A. S. Kalpana contributed with a valuable 47 runs facing as many as 149 balls. That earned him the Best Batsman of the Match award.

For the Bandarawela Thomians, Himal Chandrasiri excelled in the batting department top scoring with a quick fire 58 runs in 57 balls. He hit seven fours.
