The Kingdom of Raigam which pioneered recognition of the tele drama industry recently highlighted the degree of transparency behind the total selection programme.

At a media briefing held recently, a trail blazing event was put together and the panel of Judges met the winners of the awards, in the presence of a large media group.

The problems faced by the Judges, specially at times of a close finish and the efforts made to maintain confidentiality till the actual presentation of awards were revealed in details.

Attempts made by a few artistes to obtain pre award information did also cause a few embarrassments, but fortunately these were few and far between.

Also reported were a few hiccups regarding facilities for media personnel, namely those who needed to record the proceeding on film.

It was no doubt a good start and the frank exchange of views will lead to an improved performance, was the view expressed by chairman of Kingdom of Raigam, Dr. Ravi Liyanage.
