Dr .Nalaka Godahewa has been appointed as the Competent Authority for Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation with immediate effect

It is the general opinion amongst many that the Treasury has made a smart move by appointing Dr Nalaka Godahewa ,the former CEO of Sri Lanka Insurance as the Competent Authority for Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation at a time the interest are diverse and expectations are high.

An old Anandian, Dr. Godahewa has a brilliant track record of academic and professional qualifications spreading across three disciplines, backed by 18 years of professional excellence. Dr Godahewa’a scholastic excellence include an honours degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Moratuwa and  an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also a Fellow  of  the  Chartered  Institute  of  Marketing  (UK),  Fellow  of the Chartered   Institute  of  Management  Accountants  (UK)  and  a  Certified Management  Accountant  (Australia). Dr Godahewa’s doctorate in marketing is from the University of South Australia.

In his stint of two years at Sri Lanka Insurance, The Company was seen steering ahead as a leading Insurer in the Industry recording over 30% growth which is reportedly the best performance in the known history of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.
