Drop in turnover, marginal gain in indices

Yesterdays turnover dropped by almost 50per cent from 1.18 billion to Rs.672 million, however both indices gained marginally, ASI gaining by 6.29 points and MPI by a solitary point.

Agalawatte closed at Rs.24.75 down Rs.1.00, Ahot Properties closed at Rs.44.00 down 0.50cts, Balangoda closed at Rs.23.00 down 0.50cts, Ceylon Theatres shares exceeded 3 billion closing at Rs.43.75 down0.25cts.

Ceylinco Seylan closed at Rs./9.00 gaining 0.25cts.Dialog closed at Rs.5.25 down 0.25cts., Distilleries closed at Rs.80.00 flat. JKH closed at Rs.123.75 up Rs.3.75, Madulsims closed at Rs.15.25 up 0.50cts,

Nawaloka crossed the 2 billion mark closing at Rs.2.50 down 0.10cts., Seylan Bank closed at Rs. 36.50 down Rs.1.00, E-Channeling closed at Rs.Rs.12.00 up 0.75cts,Sierra Cables closed at Rso closed at Rs.3.30 flat while Lanka Cement closed at Rs.19.75 flat and Seylan Merchant closed at Rs.4.10 up 0.30cts.

Among the significant gains and losses were Aitken Spence down Rs.14.50,Durdans down Rs.9.00, Good Hope up Rs.37.75, Inco Malay up Rs.54.25 Lion Brewery up Rs.7.75, Selinsing up Rs.39.25 and Hotel Developers up Rs.7.75.
