Important buildings during medieval times could be identified by the pearl finish on the surfaces of their walls. Royal palaces and castles were among such buildings. Today Nippolac brings you a similar luxury through its range of pearl paints, said Managing Director of Silicone Coatings (Pvt) Ltd. Raja Hewabowala at the launch of Nippolac Pearls Paints on Friday at the Taj Samudra Hotel.
Nippolac Pearl paints were introduced at the Sri Lanka architects exhibition 2009 held recently. Pearl paints, a ready to use, water based, satin acrylic, designer decorative interior paint can be used to create different designs and patterns on walls, asbestos, woodwork, plaster of Paris or clay accessories.
A key feature of pearl paint is that it gives a sparkling pearl finish on the surface it is applied on.
With Nippolac ‘Pearl Paint’, users can create stunning designs by using a variety of application methods which include Sponging - with the use of a sponge, Stenciling-with the use of stencils with different patterns, Weaving /Dragging- creating horizontal, vertical and curved designs with the use of a paint brush, Ragging - with the use of a ragged cloth, Stripes - creating wide or evenly spaced horizontal lines and even Colourwashing - creating a variety of effects with the use of a regular paint brush., These application methods are easy to follow and are quite simple and fun as you can decorate the walls by yourself. Different designs and patterns can be created as desired, by using a person’s imagination and creativity and by using any preferred tool of equipment. Most of the household items such as a sponge, a combing device, a brush, a ragged cloth, a preferred stencil or even a natural leaf from your garden could be used to create elegant designs.
