The United National Party yesterday, (22) handed over its nominations for the Jaffna Municipal Council elections to the Assistant Elections Commissioner at the Jaffna District Secretariat, a party press release said.

UNP Assistant General Secretary and parliamentarian Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena who flew to Jaffna yesterday morning handed over the nominations.

The party has nominated 28 Tamils and one Muslim candidate. Four were women while 12 were youth candidates.
