

Commissioner General of Motor Traffic Bandula Wijeratna yesterday said that special provision had been made for the convenience of all vehicle owners in the Southern, Central and North -Central Provinces to obtain their emission test certificates in their own provinces from yesterday(22).
He said that until recently vehicles owners of these provinces had to bring their vehicles all the way to the Western Province and submit them to the Laugfs Eco-Sri or Cleanco Pvt., contracted by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles, to obtain certifications, a compulsory requirement for renewing revenue licenses.
He said that in the Southern Province Cleanco Pvt. will operate three fixed stations in Galle, Matara and Tangalle with four mobile services in the same districts.
The Laugfs Eco-Sri has nine stations in the districts of Galle and Matara.
In the Central Province Cleanco Pvt. will have seven centers all of which are mobile and Laughs Eco-Sri another seven all being mobile.
In the North Central Province Cleanco will have eight centers, all mobile and Laugfs Eco-Sri one fixed center in Anuradhapura and two mobile centres.
