Sangakkara is an articulate speaker in English so much so that one English journalist wrote that one day he should become the UN permanent representative due to his proficiency in English. In a world where the norm for some Sinhalese is to forget the mother tongue the moment he or she is able to speak a few lines in English, Sangakkara’s courageous and patriotic attitude should set a shining example. It is the testament to the grand victory achieved by our forces that Sri Lankans are now embarking on a new era with utmost self confidence .
