A Field Officer attached to the Habaraduwa Cooperative Society who allegedly pawned a gold plated bracelet claiming that it was made of pure gold, has been arrested by the Habaraduwa police.

By pawning the bracelet, he had obtained Rs. 30,000 from the society, police said. The officers of the Society complained to police after one of the officers examined the bangle and discovered that it was gold plated.

The suspect was to be produced before Galle Magistrate.
