KANDY: A Police Constable and two of his accomplices have been arrested by Daulagala police in connection with the theft of five water pumps worth Rs. 400,000 from Watadeniya, in Udunuwara.

One of the two suspected civilians is an army deserter, according Daulagala police.

The suspects with the loot were arrested while proceeding to Pussellawa to sell the items, police said.

The police constable taken into custody is attached to Wattegama police station, the police said.
